posture::poetry

Is it so hard to kneel?
To assume a humble position
To relieve oneself from standing
Where feet can no longer support
Where shoulders can no longer carry-
oh-the awful burdens of life?
I crumble
To relieve oneself from Apathy and Denial,
positions where the spine sags,
butt is happy and flabby
With knees up in defense, and
feet pointing outward, ready to run

To kneel is to wake
To step into response
where saggy flabby angry cowardly you
unloads your heavy body
as cartiledge and bone crunch
the hardwood floor
Escape-artist feet tucked beneath
seat liberated posterior
with body bent forwards
head bent downwards
giving room
-ah-
for the soul to move.
